The Family Support & Welfare Organization (FSWO), with the aim of expanding effective cooperation in the health sector, held a meeting with respected Dr. Najm-ul-Sama Shafajo, Head of the Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Shafajo Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. During the meeting, both parties discussed the status of maternal and child health, existing needs, ways to expand preventive and curative health services, education and awareness-raising, capacity-building of health workers, and the development of joint programs to improve women’s and children’s access to quality health services. It was also agreed that close cooperation between the two institutions would continue for the design and implementation of joint projects in maternal and child health, the establishment of preventive care centers, and educational programs. The Family Support & Welfare Organization (FSWO) believes that through partnership and cooperation with specialized institutions, effective steps can be taken toward improving the health of mothers, newborns, and children in Afghanistan.
