Monitoring & Evaluation

FSWO uses a robust Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) framework to ensure our programs are evidence-based, accountable, and responsive to beneficiary feedback.

MEL Framework

Our approach combines rigorous data collection with continuous learning and adaptation to maximize impact and value for money.

  • Baselines, midline and endline surveys to measure change over time
  • Routine monitoring visits to verify implementation and quality
  • Digital data collection for timely and accurate reporting
  • Beneficiary feedback mechanisms to hear directly from communities
  • Monthly program review meetings to adapt and improve

Key Indicators

We track outcomes across our strategic objectives, including:

  • Percentage increase in female enrolment in targeted schools
  • Percentage of vocational trainees who report income generation within 6 months after training
  • Number of beneficiaries receiving psychosocial support and percentage following referral pathways
  • Number of households reached with emergency assistance within 72 hours
  • Beneficiary satisfaction index

Performance Targets

  • Education: +10% enrolment among girls aged 6–15 in target communities within 2 years.
  • Livelihoods: 70% of vocational trainees achieve at least partial income generation within 6 months.
  • Protection: 90% of GBV survivors accessing support are successfully referred and provided services.
  • Humanitarian response: 95% of targeted households receive NFI or cash assistance within 7 days of assessment.

Learning and Adaptation

FSWO publishes an annual signature report summarizing program outcomes, lessons learned and recommendations. Third-party evaluations are conducted for major donor-funded programs to ensure independence and credibility. Findings feed back into program design and strategy.

Safeguarding & Protection

Child protection and GBV policies are in place and applied across all programs. We maintain a confidential complaints and feedback mechanism accessible to beneficiaries, including safe reporting channels for survivors. Mandatory staff training on safeguarding, confidentiality, informed consent and referral protocols is conducted. The do-no-harm principle is embedded in program design, with risk assessments conducted prior to implementation.

Accountability to Beneficiaries

  • Transparent beneficiary selection criteria; community validation and grievance redressal mechanisms
  • Regular community consultations and feedback loops to adapt programming
  • Accessible contact information for complaints and feedback

Reporting & Transparency

We provide timely technical and financial reports in donor-specified formats and are open to joint monitoring visits. Financial controls meet donor standards and external audits are supplied upon request. Beneficiary data is stored securely with access controlled per data protection protocols.
